Company Song
History
While working at Asera Inc. as Director of Usability
Engineering, Phillip was asked by the CEO to
compose a company song. Phillip wrote the song, "Asera Leads the way,"
and produced a
full-orchestra MIDI arrangement in his home studio. He put the
arrangement on a cassette tape, took a
boom box to the board room, and sang the song live for the company
executives. They were blown away.
The song was a big hit with the executives, so the CEO asked Phillip to
professionally record the
company song and produce a CD to give to all new employees. Phillip
hired famed producer, Ray Obiedo,
to spearhead the recording effort, and hired the internationally-known
singing group, Pastiche, to sing
backup on the recording session. Phillip and Ray chose a world-class
studio, Fantasy Records, in
Berkeley CA to record, and "Asera Leads the Way" was born.
Phillip debuted "Asera Leads the Way" at an Asera company meeting. He
hired killer "congalero,"
Owen Davis, to add a spicy rhythmic edge to the live performance. The
employee audience went wild!
Phillip, Pastiche, and Owen got a rousing ovation! The song was a huge
success!
Take a look below at a few performance
and
recording session
